Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade (23) has passed away following a battle with stage-four cancer.

A final video was released on his YouTube channel on July 1 titled “so long nerds.” In the video, Technoblade’s father plays a short clip of himself reading out the content creator’s last message to his followers.

“Hello everyone, Techoblade here. If you’re watching this, I’m dead. So let’s sit down and have one final chat.”

Technoblade revealed his name is Alex and shared an anecdote about how he got one of his siblings to call him Dave in order to troll people who would try to intimidate him online by using what they thought was his real name. He thanked his fans for buying his merchandise, saying it will help his siblings go to college should they choose to.

My son’s bravery on this path was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him. Thank you for sharing his journey through it all, as he did the work he loved for his beloved fans.”
