Kaskade just announced his latest in a long line of boundary-pushing tours, ‘undux.’ The ‘undux’ tour runs from August 22 to September 27 and features five stops across Toronto, New York City, Dallas, San Francisco and Atlanta.
With ‘undux,’ Kaskade said he wanted to “explore connection through subtraction–removing the distraction of sensory overdrive that has become the calling card of stage production for electronic music.” These special shows will happen during the day, under the bask of the sun, and feature massive sound systems. There will be an added emphasis on the music, and on the people there to listen to it rather than large-scale production.
The shows set out to highlight significant landmarks in each city–with the goal of total immersion in the moment. For example, the San Francisco show takes place at The Ruins at American Canyon–remnants of the Standard Portland Cement Plant in Napa Valley that have long been abandoned. These unique shows are set in Cercle-esque settings but with a live audience in tow. “Sometimes the most profound experiences emerge not from adding more elements, but from removing them” says Kaskade.
