Trump’s Inane ‘Play by Play’ on VP Debate: What You Missed

Presidential Candidate Donald Trump Campaigns In Milwaukee, Wisconsin

A day before Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate between J.D. Vance and Tim Walz, Donald Trump announced he’d be doing a “personal PLAY BY PLAY” on Truth Social, managing to cram in three derogatory nicknames for his Democratic opponents:

So what were Trump’s comments on the VP debate? It was surprisingly hard to follow along. While Trump has been back on X for months, he only posted one comment there during the debate. The rest of his observations were exclusive to Truth Social, where he has approximately 83 million fewer followers.

For those who are curious about what Trump said, but not enough to go through the trouble of registering for Truth Social (or weeding through the various X accounts that repost his “truths”), here’s a roundup of Trump’s largely inane debate commentary.

Trump kept all of his debate commentary on Truth Social — except for this one post. As Walz and Vance discussed the impact of Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices striking down Roe v. Wade, Trump took to Twitter to claim that “EVERYONE KNOWS I WOUL DNOT SUPPORT A FEDERAL ABORTION BAN.” He reiterated that he is not in favor of post-birth abortion, which is not a thing, then closed, “THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!”

Back on Truth Social, he attempted to bolster his claim that he’s more trustworthy than Democrats on abortion by lashing out at transgender people:

Walz said he’s “become friends with school shooters” as he was explaining why his position changed on how to address school shootings. Presumably he meant school-shooting victims? Trump was confused too:

Trump has accused the moderators of treating him unfairly in basically every debate since 2015, so why stop now?

Trump was especially riled up about the moderators correcting Vance at several points, though they said they wouldn’t be fact-checking during the debate.

He was really grasping at straws here.

A weak attack on Walz made by an obviously not very inspired Trump.

When in doubt, Trump pivoted back to his misogynistic nickname for Walz.

Sure, Biden uses the term a lot. But Trump really hasn’t heard anyone else say “folks”?

Trump’s favorite topic!
