The unnamed 37-year-old suspect was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence assault, fourth-degree domestic violence, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree murder, attempting to elude police, and DUI possession of a stolen vehicle, according to news reports.

On April 11, he forced the 35-year-old victim into his pickup truck while they were both at the casino, according to Washington State TV station KOMO. He also allegedly punched her in the head.

On April 10, the suspect revealed in texts “I’m beating her alive I’m going to skin her alive,’” according to police reports.

He was upset she was breaking up with him, police said.

Also on April 10, he allegedly assaulted her in the left arm with a metal canister. He was able to elude police that day.

The next day, police were alerted about the kidnapping.

Once officers spotted the suspect’s truck in Everett, Wash. they began to pursue the vehicle.

At one point, the suspect was able to outdrive officers. Police later located the truck near the Mukilteo Speedway and resumed the chase.

Then, the suspect began to drive southbound on the northbound lanes of State Route 525 in Lynnwood, Wash. That was when he crashed the truck into a GMC Yukon. The driver of the Yukon, identified as Trudy Slanger, 83, died from the collision.

Victim Broke Leg

The suspect and kidnapping victim were injured during the crash. Both were transported to emergency rooms. The suspect was seriously hurt. He was treated at Harborview Medical Center. He later was booked in the Snohomish County jail. The kidnapping victim reportedly suffered a broken leg.

Police discovered there were warrants out for the suspect’s arrest.  Those charges include: first-degree assault with a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with intent, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The pickup truck turned out to be stolen from Bothell, Wash. in March, according to The News Tribune, a local news outlet.

Slanger is survived by three children and five grandchildren.

Infant in Car at Ohio Casino

An Ohio father was arrested Saturday after he allegedly left his 10-month-old daughter alone in a car at Jack Casino’s parking garage in Cleveland.

The girl was unsupervised in the vehicle for more than 90 minutes while her dad, Kyle Miller, 27, of Elyria, went inside the casino, according to Ohio TV station WOIO.

A person walking in the garage saw the infant and contacted police at about 10 p.m.

An EMS crew examined the baby. She didn’t appear to have suffered any ailments. She also was examined at a local hospital. After getting checked out, she was given to relatives.

On Saturday night, Miller was apprehended by police. He was to be charged with endangering children and tampering with evidence, according to WOIO.
